Bring Gratitude into Your Prayers
My dear son,
Tell your Father what you are hoping for today. You do not have to select only the most important things to bring me. In your own words, speak about what troubles you and what you hope to do well.
Let gratitude have a place in that conversation, too. Remember the love and help you have already received, and ask me for what you still need. Your requests and your thanks can share the same prayer.
You do not have to wait for everything to go your way before your heart can rest. May the peace I give in Christ guard your heart and thoughts. Keep your heart open to me as you live this day.
With all my love,
Your Father
Philippians 4:6–7
WEB6In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
A short reflection
Paul teaches that God's peace guards believers' hearts and minds in Christ as they pray with thanksgiving.
