Hope That Lasts

My dear son,

Lean today on the Father who has cared for your life from its beginning. As you look back, I hope you can recognize reasons for gratitude in the effort and help other people have given you.

Some have called on me since childhood; others are just learning my name. Your story does not have to match anyone else's. Tell me about thanks you have carried for years, or bring me a newly formed question.

Place your hope in me today. Treasure the care you have received, and live the day now before you. Look back with gratitude and entrust the coming days to me. Keep the conversation with your Father going.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 71:5–6

WEB

5For you are my hope, Lord GOD, my confidence from my youth.

6I have relied on you from the womb. You are he who took me out of my mother’s womb. I will always praise you.

A short reflection

The psalmist remembers God as his hope from youth and the one who has sustained him from birth.
