A Heart That Seeks Me

My dear son,

As someone in a dry land searches for water, may your heart seek your Father. I am glad when you come because you want to be with me, as well as when you need something. I want to hear your story.

After a brief prayer, linger a little. Ask a question that arose while reading Scripture, or tell me about something you enjoy today. That time does not need to produce an accomplishment.

Just as a thirsty body needs water, your soul needs time with me. Treasure that place within your ordinary routines. Call to me as you walk or rest, and let us live close to each other today.
