Where Will You Place Your Trust?

My dear son,

What will you lean on as you set out today? Make faithful use of the skills you have learned and the preparations you have made. But do not assume your way is secure only when your hands are full.

Even when chariots and horses seemed to represent all the power there was, my people called on my name. They placed their trust beyond the strength they could see. Trust the Father who cares for you more than the things you possess.

Receive good help gratefully, and prepare your part with care. Then begin today's work by calling on me. Let me be the one you ultimately depend on.

With all my love,
Your Father

Psalms 20:7

7Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

A short reflection

The community declares its trust in the Lord's name rather than the strength of chariots and horses.
