Enough Steps for Today
My dear son,
Welcome the day you have been given. Try not to pile every problem from days yet to come onto the breakfast table. Leave room to enjoy today's meal and the conversations waiting for you today.
I value the care you take in preparing for the future. But I do not want you to spend so much time living tomorrow in advance that you miss the people and moments beside you now. When worry grows, tell me about it.
Do what you can today, and rest freely when it is time to rest. Living a day well does not require answers to every distant question. Begin by sharing the time you have with me.
With all my love,
Your Father

A short reflection
