An Evening Filled with Words and Song
My dear son,
As the day ends, I hope the words filling your heart bring warmth. I want a life where Jesus' teaching is shared generously and grateful songs are heard, where words help people instead of continually pressing them harder.
I called you together as one body so that you might share in peace. As you teach and encourage one another, keep hold of love and gladly share the grace you have received. Let your life together make room for gratitude.
You may sing me the song that has stayed in your heart today. I listen even to a quiet voice offering praise. Share a simple word of thanks this evening, and rest comfortably in the peace of Christ.
With all my love,
Your Father
Colossians 3:15–16
WEB15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.
16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.
A short reflection
Paul urges believers called into one body to let Christ's peace rule and his word dwell richly among them, teaching one another and singing with gratitude.
