Love That Respects the Time for Healing
My dear son,
Sharing your heart with someone close is a love tended over time. Familiarity should invite care, rather than careless treatment. There is kindness in stopping to ask what the other person is feeling.
A hurt heart may not open easily, like a gate held by a heavy bar. If you owe an apology, speak sincerely and let your actions change. Give the other person room instead of hurrying them to feel all right immediately.
Tell me this evening about a relationship you cherish. Express your gratitude gladly and speak honestly about what needs to be resolved. As your Father, I want your love to deepen patiently, with respect for the time healing can take.
With all my love,
Your Father
Proverbs 18:19
WEB19A brother offended is more difficult than a fortified city. Disputes are like the bars of a fortress.
A short reflection
Proverbs compares the difficulty of reconciliation with an offended relative to taking a fortified city, and their disputes to the bars of a strong gate.
