The Worth of Learning Again

My dear son,

I am glad to see you learning something new. Even in familiar work, willingness to receive correction is precious. You do not have to do everything well from the beginning to be a beloved child. Ask and learn freely.

Wisdom grows as you listen to counsel that serves life. Value the words that help your life become more faithful, along with those that are pleasant to hear. I hope the love I teach finds its way into your choices little by little.

Let us enjoy what you discovered today. What you could not yet do can be learned again. I am a Father who wants you to grow with care for your learning self, rather than contempt.

With all my love,
Your Father

Proverbs 15:31–32

WEB

31The ear that listens to reproof lives, and will be at home among the wise.

32He who refuses correction despises his own soul, but he who listens to reproof gets understanding.

A short reflection

Proverbs teaches that listening to life-giving correction brings wisdom, contrasting acceptance of discipline with the self-harm of rejecting it.
