An Answer Given with Thought
My dear son,
I can wait while you take a moment to choose your answer. Speaking quickly does not always communicate your heart well. Take time to understand what you want to say, and then tell me.
A wise heart thinks carefully before answering. The care you take to ask whether your words are true and helpful is a form of love. I hope you value the honesty within your words more than the speed with which they arrive.
If a conversation stays in your mind this evening, share it. Choose calmly what you might need to say again, and let yourself rest now. Your respectful way of answering another person is precious to your Father.
With all my love,
Your Father
