An Opportunity to Do Good

My dear son,

A small kindness is not wasted simply because it brings no visible response right away. Just as a field cannot be harvested on the day its seed is planted, continuing to do good calls for patience.

I want you to treasure the people you meet. Those who share your faith and neighbors you hardly know are all precious people who can receive the kindness of your words and your hands.

Do not spend the night adding up what all your effort has accomplished. Care for the body that needs rest, and ask me for strength to love again tomorrow. I will sustain you as you do good and wait for its season.

With all my love,
Your Father

Galatians 6:9–10

WEB

9Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up.

10So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

A short reflection

Paul encourages believers not to grow weary in doing good, but to use every opportunity to do good to everyone.
