The Name of My Child
My dear son,
Tonight I want to call you my child with tenderness. That is the name I give those who receive Jesus and believe in him. It is a relationship given through faith, beyond the reach of human ratings or achievements.
Before we talk about what went well or felt clumsy, enjoy the love between us. Bring your thanks and requests freely, as a child comes to a father. I treasure this relationship in which you can call to me.
You need not labor to explain your worth tonight. Rest in the heart of the Father who has welcomed you. Receive this letter gently, written with the joy of being with my beloved child.
