Learning to Entrust Your Way
My dear son,
Finish today by entrusting the path you have walked to me. I hope you will measure life by more than how quickly you move ahead. As your Father, I value the honest course you are taking.
If you see someone prosper through dishonest means, do not hurry to follow them. Your heart need not remain caught in comparison and anger. Ask me for strength to stay truthful, and wait for me.
Your righteous choices are known to me. If you have faithfully done today's part, leave the rest with me for a while. Depend quietly on your Father, and give your body and mind the time they need to rest.
With all my love,
Your Father
Psalms 37:5–7
WEB5Commit your way to the LORD. Trust also in him, and he will do this:
6he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun.
7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
A short reflection
The psalm urges people to entrust their way to God, wait quietly, and refuse anger over the apparent success of the wicked.
