A Day Shaped by Mercy

My dear son,

I hope your Father's mercy will show in your life today. When someone reveals a weakness, treat their life as precious instead of using that vulnerability for your own advantage.

If something needs correcting, speak truthfully and leave out words that humiliate. Make room for a person to acknowledge what went wrong and begin again. Meet your neighbor with the mercy I have shown you.

Kindness toward those you already like comes easily. Ask your Father how to love someone toward whom your heart does not naturally turn. How glad I will be to see your expression and tone grow more like my heart today.
