The Worth of an Honest Road
My dear son,
The heart with which you live matters more to me than what you own. You do not need to reshape the facts to appear prosperous. Whatever your circumstances, I welcome you tenderly when you speak truthfully.
Whatever a lie might gain cannot replace the worth of an honest life. Ask plainly for what you need and faithfully keep the promises you can make. You do not have to conceal your actual life from me.
Let us talk this evening about a promise you treasure. You may receive help where you cannot manage alone. As your Father, I want to rejoice in seeing you live through the honest giving and receiving of love.
With all my love,
Your Father
Proverbs 19:1
WEB1Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
A short reflection
Proverbs values a poor person who walks with integrity above someone whose speech is dishonest and whose way of life is foolish.
